What did I learn from my first week of streaming?

That's a good question - what did I learn from my first week of streaming? A good idea really to slow down and reflect on the first few streaming sessions. I think the first thing that I learned is that I have a lot to learn. So many things to think about. Need to look at sound, lighting, video production, how to be on camera, and what to stream - just to name a few. Not to mention, how do I get people engaged and maintain their interest.

In addition, have to review the topics that want to discuss and items to share with the public. They may be interesting to me but is it interesting to others? Know I want to add some different types of streams which, in turn, means that I will have to learn even more and figure all those things out. So far, just chatted a little bit on writing topics and then wrote a couple short stories with members who were on the stream.

I do feel like I need to break it up with other activities, which I will do as the stream continues to evolve and hopefully improve. As I look at my streaming schedule and what to stream I find that it is a balance between what I want to do and what I think others may like. The good news is that the balance should not be that difficult as most of what I want to do I believe others will enjoy as well. If nothing else, I get to explore what I want to do and what makes me happy. Something that I have been reflecting on for a while now.

Streaming, even though public in nature, is very personal to me. It showcases me in front of anyone who joins the stream. Although the goal is to build a community of support and encouragement, I am at the center. I have to be willing and open for everybody to see me for me and be confident in who I am. So far, that rings true and I am grateful that I have reached a point in my life that I can feel that way and be comfortable in my own skin and with who I am.

The other thing that I learned is that this new adventure is fun! I am really enjoying writing random short stories with other members and see what stories we come up with. And it's getting me to writing again, which has been lacking of late. Enjoying this new adventure and looking forward to what it brings.
